2 Timothy 2-14New International Version (NIV)
2: To Timothy, my dear son:
Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. Thanksgiving
3: I thank God, whom I serve, as my ancestors did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. 4: Recalling your tears, I long to see you, so that I may be filled with joy. 5: I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.

Sincere faith

Gathering

Brothers and sisters, we worship the Lord, in whom we trust and
find peace. As we gather, let us join together in sincere faith and
with thanksgiving for the grace and love of Christ Jesus. Let our
time be filled with joyful praise, prayers of gratitude, and gracious
fellowship. Let us worship God together.

Affirming Faith

Leader: Be still before the Lord; wait patiently before him.
People: Trust in the Lord, and do good.
Leader: Stand and keep watch to hear what the Lord says.
People: Take delight in the Lord.
Leader: Be grateful to the Lord, and sincere in your faith.
All: We will commit our ways to the Lord.

Praying

God, you have called us according to your purpose and grace. We
accept that calling, knowing that your way is higher than ours, that
your way leads toward light, and that your way offers life and salvation.
We trust your plan, knowing that you have extended grace
to us throughout the ages. You have revealed grace through our
Savior Christ Jesus, who holds us in love. Increase our faith, that
we may know you more deeply, love you more fully, and follow
you more closely. In your name. Amen.
—Mary Ann Weber, Goshen, Indiana
