Announcements

The Women’s Care Group will not meet during the month of July.

The annual ice cream social is scheduled for this Tuesday at Gypsy Hill Park near the bandstand. We will plan to eat around 6:30, but feel free to come early to enjoy the beauty of the park! Please bring lawn chairs, finger foods and sandwiches to share. Table service will be provided. If you have an ice cream freezer and are interested in providing some frozen goodness for the rest of us, please see Danny and Frances after today’s worship service to let them know so we can plan accordingly.

Everyone is invited to the Virginia Mennonite Conference Annual Assembly worship services at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Charlottesville on July 24th and 25th, beginning at 6:45 each evening. This year’s theme is “Making Disciples as We Go!” Find more details at: http://virginiaconference.org/assembly/

Please Prayer For:

  • Danny Weaver, recovering from knee-replacement surgery.

  • Those traveling this summer.

  • From Virginia Mennonite Missions: “Please pray for David and Rebekka Stutzman as they discern the next steps in their church planting efforts in Germany.

No one truly knows Christ unless they follow Him daily in life" - Hans Denck

Thank you for joining us in worship today.  If this is your first time at Staunton Mennonite,
please fill out the “Welcome” card in the back of the pew and place it in the offering plate.

Christ is in you

Praising

Leader: From the heavens, God sends water and light.
In return life sprouts from the earth.
People: The earth responds.
Mountains and hills burst forth with song,
trees and fields clap their hands.
Leader: From the heavens, God sends the Spirit.
In return, eternal life sprouts within us.
Christ lives within us.
People: We respond,
with voices and actions,
with heart and soul and strength.
All: Let us cry out with creation, praise the Lord!

Offering

God of heaven and earth,
tiller of soil and sower of seed,
we are here because you planted your seed in us.
We are here bearing the fruit of that trust and growth.
We offer to you now what we have and what we are,
that it too may not return empty
but go further still according to your purpose. Amen.

Sending

Go now in joy,
as the body of Christ,
alive in the Spirit,
tuned to the song of creation.
—Michelle Jantzi Dueck, Kitchener, Ontario
